cleaning HD canvas seat covers 200

I got a set of front seat covers for 240 seats. These are of a heavy canvas material. Whats the best way to clean these and get the stubborn stains out? I really dont want to experiment with differnt cleaners and end up trashing them. They are both in great shape with no tears or anything other than the stains.
Thanx
Patrick

working as a detailer for 20 years belive it or not blue windex window cleaner and a soft bristel brush works well with any interior fabric lighty spray windex on seat and stain and brush lighty with the soft brush this also works on grease and all rugs a terry towel works as well on old not so strong sun damage fabrics and there is less chance of wreacking any materials by doing it this way than in a washmachine

Ditto to both those posts - I was amazed at the difference between the covers I machine-washed and the untouched ones...yeccch! There was a tiny amount of shrinkage, but this meant that they fit tighter and therefore new-looking, no wrinkles. I'm speaking here of the stock, 22-yr-old Volvo covers. The 240 seats are easy to remove and take apart. The hog rings were a PITA, and I reassembled with nylon zip ties - a great tip I saw on this board....quick, easy, and will be simple to remove (cut) if I need to do it again.

I agree with Al on that one. Trying to get the stains out by scrubbing will just move the stain around on material. Washing them in washer will dilute the stain and carry it out with the dirty water. Best part... your whole seat cover is spankin' clean! :-) Michael

I put mine in the washmachine and dry at low heat. A little shrinkage, but will stretch back out.
