Steering Wheel Options for 142 140-160

I would like to get a smaller steering wheel to replace the huge vintage style wheel in my 142. I have yet to find an adapter hub for it (a la Momo or Nardi), but that does not pose too big a problem as I want to keep this as cheap as possible - will a steering wheel from a mid-80's turbo 200 series fit onto the splined shaft in a 142, or are there other options that exist as well? Thanks!

I just went back to a stock steering wheel on my 72 142. Removed is a 13 inch wheel that I know nothing about other than it looks like it is in good shape and has a detachable adaptor hub that is 4 inches long. I have no reason to keep it.

      Mark,

Would you be willing to do a parts trade for that wheel and adaptor hub? Let me know, email me at: svenerikREMOVETHIS@u.washington.edu

      Thanks!

There are some hubs available from Moto-lita (www.moto-lita.com). You don't mention what year your car is, but it changed part way through the run. Be extra sure you get the right one the first time as they're not cheap.

No,you'll need to make an adaptor.I put a Grant 12" in my 142.I went at the old wheel with a hacksaw than drilled and taped holes for the mount. It works great but a 13" would be ideal.

I took a wheel outta a Old Chevy LUV pick up. Its very cool lookin! I had to bore the hole out, and then i just drilled a whole in the center of the shaft. I put a metal rod through that, it isn't going anywhere, and its a 13 inch wheel.
