No spark or any dashboard lights 200 1983

1983 240 GL 4cyl w/ 72K miles. Auto will not start, just cranks. New timing belt at 54k miles. There's no dashboard lights, power window action or turnsignals. Turning over sounds good, brand new battery and posts are spotless, no burnt fuses and the 25amp fuse near the battery is good. The radio, door locks, blower motor, wipers, hazard lights, lights, horn, cigarette lighter & dome lights work great. Someone from AutoZone told me it could be the ignition switch gone bad. I didn't think it's the ignition switch, since the radio, wipers & blower motor all work and they all work off the ignition switch turned on, but the windows don't work and they do work off the ignition switch. What do you think and how could I test the ignition switch?

    Thank you both for the ideals. All wires look great around the battery & coil. What is the little black box? Is it the black wire cover to 4 wires next to the votage regulator on the drivers side fender? All wires in that area look great also. Tried the key turning, but no luck. I'll keep trying till Monday, then I give up and I'll have it towed to be serviced.

    Check to see what works in the different key positions. For example the radio should work in I and in II, power windows in II only. Try this, too - with the key exactly in position II, turn it just a little back towards I, see if anything changes. Then turn it just a little towards III, check again. BTDT

    AZ may actually be correct, this one time.

    check all the fuses.

    I think the no dash lights has to do with some ign wires around the coil. Inspect all the wires in that area. Check the little black box.

    Also check the alt wires.
