Q re the last of the '93 240s 200 1993

Hi. I'm asking about a certain version of the 240, sold in 1993, that was supposed to represent the last 240s, and were loaded with a lot of options to celebrate (or mourn?) the end of the 240 line. Was it called the 240 Classic or the Special Edition?
And, what were the options? Did it have a sunroof, etc.?
In advance, thank you.

I have a 93 245 classic. Nothing really special except a small little inscription noting it is 869 out of 1600, and a little wood trim on the foward panel. Also heated mirrors became standard in 93, I think. Not near as much hoopla as one would think for the last of a great series. Rob has the real scoop on this cause he has seen a lot of them go through the shop. Also, I think VolvoWorld has a page on the differences.

I think there was also a "240 SE" trim as well...but not sure what years and if different from the "Classic"...I remember seeing the grille on either a Classic or SE and it was all black and looked slightly recessed or rather totally flush with the headlights...maybe a mod or something else...or perhaps I'm crazy!!

    Q re the last of the '93 240s 200 1993

I have one of these. They called it the 240 Classic. Mine is a wagon. I'm not sure what the split between wagons and sedans was. I really can't say that there is all that much wonderful about these compared to the standard 240 model. It's mostly minor trim differences. Here are some examples:

-Plaque on the dashboard numbering the car. Mine is number 270 out of 1600
-Nice X-style alloy wheels, although these were available on other models.
-Body colored side mirrors and grill trim.
-Wood trim inside. Basically the horizontal strip that is plastic on other models is wood on this one.
-Badge on the back that says "classic"
-I think there were special colors availble for the Classic. Mine is sort of a dark metallic green.
-Power heated side mirrors, but not specific to the classic
-Heated seats, although this was not specific to the classic.
-Non-CFC a/c, although this was not specific to the classic.
-Six speaker stereo, although not specific to the classic and a big piece of junk.
-Cruise control, although not specific to the classic

I can't think of anything else worth mentioning. It's mostly a marketing thing. That said, I'm happy to have one. This is the nicest running 240 that I've had. I'm running with Bilsteins, IPD sways, and IPD strut and chasis braces. At 78K, the ride and engine idle are both smoother than my S70. But it's dog slow of course, like every other NA 240.

Of the 1600 hundred, about half wagons, half sedans. Then there were 2 colors, blue-green, and ruby red. You could choose between charcoal cloth, tan vinyl, or tan leather. Not sure about any other interiors. I think less than 100 came with a manual transmission, so manual Classics are very rare. I have #1549 which is a Ruby-Red/Charcoal wagon. No sunroofs were available OEM. Classics also have chrome grilles.

240 SE's were available in 1991. Wagons or sedans, they came in either a bright red, or white. X alloys and wagons had a non-functional roof rack. Also had ABS and SRS. I had a white wagon with tan leather. I wish I still had that car to go along with my classic.

Here's a picture of my 240 Classic from Fall 2001 when we were on a Family trip. Car looks the same now, although I don't run around every day with the roof carrier. Not a great picture to make out the trim differences (especially after compressing), but at least you can see the wheels.
