EGR 900 1995

One more question....

I live in Pennsylvania and the engine is a B230.

The catalytic info is asking if I have EGR or not. I don't know how to tell.

Yes, I admit I am dumb.

Please advise.

Thanks.

The EGR system is a valve bolted to the block under your inlet manifold, next to the oil separator of the PCV system. From this valve there is a vacuum line to the left strut tower, and two steel tubes. One goes to the inlet manifold and one goes to the outlet manifold. Vacuum applied makes the exhaust recirculate into the inlet.

    Hope this helps

there's an emissions equipment sticker under the hood- on my 94 it's on the driver's side strut tower facing forward. It has acronyms like "EFI" (electronic fuel injection) "HO2S" (heated oxygen sensor) and I bet you'll see "EGR" there in the string.

TADD - I asked the same question not long ago. Turned out neither our 92 / 94 models had and EGR. I want to say it's for '95 models ??? and overseas models??? Definitely look under your intake manifold - and you should see it. Good luck.

Well on my 1995 940 T you have to get a flashlight and mirror practically to see it... deep, deep, deep within the Bermuda Triangle beneath the manifold.

The easiest giveaway are the large aluminum pipes that lead to it... one from above the manifold that wraps around and the other from the exhaust after the turbo.

The EGR itself sits right at the base of the breather box... and on my car one must remove the EGR in order to replace the breather box!... since the EGR overlapps one of the bolts holding the breather box to the engine block by 1/2 inch. An engine design flaw IMHO.
