Body Molding Removal

I am going to have my car repainted and want to take the body moldings off myself and possibly replace them with the better looking black moldings from the 740 turbos. My car is a 1989 760 turbo sedan. I need to know how to remove the moldings without damaging them in the case that I want to re-use them. The moldings in question are the door moldings below the windows and midway down the doors, the volvo emblems on the front fenders, and the little plastic moldings on the right and left side of the car below the rear window (about 4" long). Any help would be gladly received.

Thanks,
Jeff

Body Molding Removal

The emblems are adhered using adhesive tape and can be gently heated with a hot air gun to loosen them. Peel them off with a spatula. The door moldings are adhered using clips in holes: pry off the outer cover using your hands or a spatula (protecting the paint with tape), then remove the inner retainer and clips from the holes. You may need new clips to reinstall, and make sure the paint underneath and at the holes is intact to keep it from rusting.
