5 cyl. in a 140 140-160

Someone posted a link to a pic of a 5 cyl. installed into a 140 series a month ago or so. It did not mention what they used for a transmission. Anyone know of that Conversion ? Any ideas about type of bellhousing and or transmission adapted ? thanks Tom

Think I've seen this one. It uses the (never in the USA) M90.

That was used on the 960 in europe. Since the 960 motor (B6304/B6254) is directly related to the 850's B5254, it's probably a bolt-on.

You're right, the M90 (only used with 960/90 2.5/170 hp and 2.9/180 hp, never with the 2.9/204 hp) is a bolt on. This trans btw also was used in 940 turbos from 1995 and on but of course with a different bellhousing, modified for the red engines. The M90 has no similarities with the M4x series, it's an all new design although Volvo when launched claimed some common parts with the 850 fwd manual trans. Sync even in reverse gear is a special detail which proves this relationship.
