fuse for main fuel pump extremly hot 200

the fuse on my 81 240 wagon gets extremly hot, i have tightened the fuse holder but it still gets extremly hot, there are signs of excessive heat on the fuses and holder any insights?

    I also had same problem. Followed previous advice and also found machanical relay contacts were burned. After soldering and sanding contacts, problem was gone. When soldering the relay, put most of the heat into the relay frame. It's alot heavier then the traces on the circuit board.

    I had the same problem on my 1980 245. Locate the fuel pump relay, it should be above the drivers left knee. Remove the cover and look closely at the solder joints (I used an eye loupe). EVERY one of the joints holding the magnetic coil on mine were fractured. I re-soldered the joints, the resistance returned to normal and the fuel pump fuse is now cool to the touch.
