Anyone ever try this cam from IPD?

Not that I want to make my 740 into a screamer, but some more power would come in REALLY handy sometimes (could NOT get the car over 90mph today). Does this cam work as well as they say? What's the sacrifice in fuel economy and idle quality?

I have the VX3 cam in my B230F/M47 240. It's a decent cam, and a whole lot better than the M cam. It might not be as impressive in an automatic, but with no (expensive) adjustable timing gear and a manual transmission, it does just fine. The low end power is still pretty good, and from about 4800 to the rev limiter it pulls MUCH stronger than before. There's a slight flat spot in power around 4100-4600, but it really picks up above that.

That and an adjustable cam gear would help, so would a larger exhaust. It might be better to but a 740 Turbo. I just happen to have one for sale.

Hey Warren, you're selling the old workhorse? Does it still have the worn out B230FT? And the big question, how much?

It still has the old B230FT. I could replace it for $600 with a 940 B230FT, but then the base price would go up. Are you interested? We could work something out. Let me know.
