Do Volvos Fix Themselves? 900 1991

OK..I know they don't but sometimes I wonder. I told you some time back about my troubles with the leaking heater core. Well, 7 hours of labour at the dealership took care of that and Christmas wasn't quite ruined. However, soon after, the car started shifting roughly and a hissing sound developed in the dash area. I thought the worst but hesistated in going back to the dealership. One week later, its shifting smoothly and the hissing sound is all but gone. Maybe I am being too attentive to the car because of my recent problems but then again Christmas should be wonderful if it keeps fixing itself.

Usually 240s fix themselves better than 700 and 900 series cars.

AW70 and AW71 transmissions have their own personalities, and they do occasionally have bad days.

The hissing sound came from a leaking vacuum line or vacuum motor, likely disturbed as a result of the core replacement. It may recur.
