Is $250 a decent price for a M41 from a wrecking yard? 140-160

Greetings,

Thanks for your input. I called some yards and the locator found a M41 for $200 + shipping. I was quoted $250 to pick up here in my town, Eugene, OR. Is this a decent price? Can anyone beat it?

Sincerely,

Brian

That doesn't seem totally out of line. I would say $400+ is excessive - and OTOH I'm sure someone can sell it for less. When you need it, and it's the right thing and it's local, then it's the right price. Not a bad price at all if they'll pull it for you and put it in your truck (or trunk).

That price is kind of high. The yards around where I live sell
any manual transmission for about $90, you pull it. It can take
about 40 minutes to pull an M40/M41 if you've got the correct
tools. It can take many many hours to do so if you don't have
the right tools. I can't remember the exact size (someone else
might ring in) but the critical tool is a hex head wrench with a
ball end on a long extension, to get the 2 upper allen bolts off
of the transmission that are otherwise very hard to access.
