AC evaporator-butchered! 700 1985

Took my car into station to have refrigerant charged-I had an adaptor for accumulator valve going into the firewall. The mechanic tried to loosen the fitting-he couldn't, so he used a torch and twisted the evaporator pipe coming in thru the firewall. Can anything be saved-or does the whole evaporator have to be replaced? If so-$$$?

    Brilliant mechanic and another reason to be thankful for Brickboard. That pipe is an integral part of the evaporator and maybe a new pipe could be welded on but that would be as much work as a new evaporator, I think, unless he has enough free tube to work with.
