What all do I need-replacing control arm stay bushings. 700

Hey board,

I was trying to research this using the search and 700/900 faq, but I give up.
could someone just tell me which parts I need to complete this job. I think Ive figured out that i need 4 bushings, 2 per side. How many washers do i need? Or can I use the old washers?

Also, I have an 87-740 and I assume that bushing 1359599(stock) is the one I want. But i know there are others. How can I be sure which is the right one.

Thanks

Lawrence

Lawrence:

Yes, you need four bushings, two per side There is a metal sleeve that connects them. You can re-use the washers if your old ones aren't split (never seen this but I understand it happens). I'd lean toward getting polyurethane bushings for the sake of longevity. IPD sells a kit for around $69 which includes the four bushings, two metal sleeves and new bolts, and there was a "tech tip" discussion with illustrations in their Fall/Winter catalog; pretty straightforward job. GAPA regularly sells just the poly bushings and the sleeves on Ebay for around $40.
