summer tires 200 1977

Greetings all-

It is time for me to buy a good set of summer tires. I am planning on getting winter tires seperate, but I am seeking advice for the summer. Any good ideas?

Thanks-

    Joe,

I've been happy with the Yokohama Avid H4. Very good price and performance for non-winter driving. Check out discounttiredirect.com for prices. They offer a less expensive T rated version of this tire as well. As I recall they run around 40-50 bucks each. My $.02

If you are going to use 15 inch wheels. Then my recommendation is to call the
tire rack and see if they have any Bridgestone RE71 tires left. In a 205/55-15
size. I've used these and they stick like glue. The best part is that they are
considered 'old' high performance tires and when I bought my last set this past
November they were only $68 each. Since tire manufacturers lately are obsessed with tire life these tires are actually more sticky with better all around performance than a lot of new tires that they would have you believe are better.

I'm going to be putting mine on soon. After I rebuild my suspension.

I would prefer to stick with the 14" wheel, but thanks anyways, and I'll look into to. Does anyone have any experience with Nokian's summer tire like the NRH2 or the NRT2? I don't want an all season tire.

      Thanks all-

I've also had good results with yokohamas and I stayed with the original 14X5.5 wheels. My first set were model A378 then S306, both 215/60-14. Same O.D. as original. The follwing example may be of use.

        175/70-14 = 23.65" OD.

        (175[mm]/25.4[mm/in.])x(2x0.7)+14" = 23.65"OD
