Oregon rainy season = 242 sunroof leaking 200

The Oregon rain has set in to stay for a while.
Turns out my sunroof is leaking, yet only from the passenger side and not terribly much at that.

Symptoms:
Does not seem to leak when car is still.
Yet when I accelerate hard, brake hard or turn some water comes from passenger side. The interior trim piece that goes around the sunroof opening seems to be holding in some water so it all does not come out @ once.

My theory is that there is too much water in the tray, and when I drive the car it spills over the rails and into the compartment.
I checked the front drain tubes and they are fine, I cleaned them as best I could. I also cleaned the rear ones as much as I could get to with pipe cleaners.

I am going to assume this will eventually destroy the headliner.
Do I need to drop the headliner to totally check the integrity of the rear drain tubes, or does the sunroof tray extend far back into the back area of the roof?

All advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Well the sunroof is obviously leaking whether or not you're moving. The water is just draining inside when you move. Mine does this. I suspect that it very well may be the felt seal. How's yours look?

I was kinda thinking that too. It does not press hard against the back section of the sunroof, I can see a gap. So it might need to be adjusted for that. Overall the felt seal looks alright. It has some imperfections, one section in the passenger rear, has 1/4 depressed but it is still there.

I will hopefully be investigating it all this weekend.
The drain tubes will be thoroughly checked for good flow and the sunroof for tightness and all.

      good luck
      thanks

I think your theory is sound. I don't think however your cleaning method is up to par. Since it probably would be too much bother to remove the whole set up I would try removeing the roof tube from the Y connection in the trunk and then with compressed air, blow the tubes up & down. or maybe use a plumbing snake.
Just my two cents worth. Good luck & stay dry.

Yes, I would agree it would take a lot to take it all apart.
I hate leaks, especially water into where it should not be. So I wanted to eliminate it and check everything. I tried with compressed air up the tubes a while ago, but did not get anything. I will try that again or the plumbing snake/coat hanger

      thanks
      take care
