    Hello, gentlemen!

Excuse my ignorance - I'm novice on this forum... Who gives out such medallions? My Volvo has long ago passed 224000 miles.

    Sincerely,
    Dmitriy.

Believe me it's not Ignorance. There are literal Volvo gods on this board so the only question that is ignorant is the one that is not asked. Anyway, look in the archives and search for the "High Mileage Club" that should give you the site. If I remember correctly, you e-mail them and they send you a registration form to send in and about 2 weeks after that you will receive your medallion. I think you will get 2 one for the first 100k, another for the 200k mark. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Hi ... Only ONE SMALL PROBLEM with Registering online for we Canadians ... first you have to figure out a way to register on the US site for VOLVOCARS when we don't have a US STATE or a US ZIP CODE .... the registration for the High Mileage Submissions is OK ... but not the entry to the US SITE .... so I cheated and used California ... Zip Code 12345. Anyway once I cheated my way onto the US site as the High Mileage is not accessable from the Canadian site I was able to register for my high mileage medallions ..... now just got to figure out where to put 15 of them .... without seriously impairing the cooling system air flow ;-)

Just like the Energizer Bunny .... it keeps Going and Going and Going .......

I'd post it next to the rear licence plate. No sand, rocks to screw it up.

Actually, I just received my 200,000 badge today. I also recommend using some clear paint to protect it. My 100K badge's paint is half-flaked off.

Some people put it on the rear end by the license plate, by the Volvo emblem, on the grille (which is where mine is), inside on the glovebox, or on one of the empty gauge pods to the right of the instrument cluster.

I felt insecure about putting the badge on my grille, but my 100K badge has been on for seven years or so and is still holding tight, so I'll put my 200K badge on the grille also. Just make sure whatever surface you put the badge on is super clean and dry!

I put mine (100K and 200K) securely on the grille using a plastic plate with a bolt through the slots. This morning, before the sun came up, I was picking the bent up remains of them from among the shards of my grille after nudging a doe back into the woods.

Tramped through the muddy pick'n'pull this afternoon-- not one intact grille to be found.

You can find grilles on eBay. Some are in better condition than others. Make sure the mounting tabs are intact.

My car has killed two deer in it's driving career. The grille has been spared both times, though I did get a new driver's side turn signal assembly once.

          Mike,

Yes, Ebay. I did. Because, the way the pick'n'pulls get picked over these days there has to be a direct conduit to Ebay. Stuck the grill from my '79 on until the ebay purchase (with "good tabs") arrives.

My first deer, though I've seen and been involved in repairing the resulting damage to other's cars. I'd say the Volvo got off easy compared to some.

when you mean you put it on your grill, do you mean you put it over the volvo emblem or on the ribs of the grill?

I have mine on the ribs of the grille (click on my car's thumbnail...you can sort of see it). It doesn't seem like it would hold, but my 100K badge has held on for about seven years. This summer after washing my car, I gave it a gentle tug, and it's still holding on. I guess the foam tape that comes with the grille is pretty strong.

I have seen badges mounted directly on the Volvo emblem, but I think that ruins the "motif" of the car's front end.

The area to the left and right of the rear license plate is a very good spot as it won't be hit by anything. I'd recomment hitting it with clear paint to keep the badge looking nice.
