Q: Limited Slip Additives or Special Oil?

The additives are intend to make to coefficients of static and dynamic friction equal. The reason for the chatter is the coefficent of dynamic friction is less than the coefficient of static friction. With these unequal coefficients of friction, the clutches hold firmly until slip begins. Once the slip begins, the coefficient of friction drops and the clutches slip easlily until there is no load on them. Now that the load is off the clutches, they grab ahold again and the cycle repeats.
