I'm on a mission... 700 1990

The car: 1990 Volvo 745.

The problem: The #@$%ing glove box will not open.

The goal: to gain access to glove box. Three years without knowing what is in there has become too much.

Here's the deal. The knobs turns, but does nothing. I'm sure it's not a common problem, but does anyone have any insight as to what can be done --short of forcing the lock? I need a plan of attack.

    There is a little pin on the end of the lock that draws down the latch. It is broken off. If you are careful and use something fairly broad, you can pry the door down enough to get it open. Little bits will fly all over, and then the door won't shut again, so go buy a new lock from the dealer. You might find one at a wrecker, but they disappear fast.
