Signal Light Failure 700 89

I have 89 740 Turbo Wagon and recently my right front signal light stopped working. I assuemde that bulb burned out and decided to replace it (not so simple task in this car). After taking old buld and replacing with new problem persisted; no sigal in front. Does anyone had a similar problem and perhaps know istructions on how to troubleshoot this issue. Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Signal Light Failure 700 89

I just delt with this problem, my right front did that and i did exactly what you did and of course didnt work, i pulled the fixture out and looked inside it only to find the metal bulb houseing was loose and no longer makeing the connection to the pin. i went to the junk yard and pulled a replaced meny holder for a buck may want to check the bulb metal houseing.

Re: Signal Light Failure 700 88

I had the same problem some time ago. Turns out that the wires in by bulb were falling out and the bulb inside had a lot of movement. Check those things first and also check the connections to the bulb. My car has had just about every bulb go out on it so far. I found out that many of the bulbs are just plain old and are losing their connections to the bulb holders. I cleaned all of the connections, replaced a few bulbs and now they all work just fine.
