I bought some Jensen speakers, 4", for my 93 240 wagon and the holes that the old speaker came out of are much farhter away than the holes for the new speaker are...get what im saying? Like the diameter for the old speaker holes is larger than the diameter for the new ones...how do i make them fit?? THanks!

Yeah, I put the Jensens in the rear of my Volvos. If you want to use the "clips", then carefully cut the speaker opening a little bit right there at each hole, just the width of the "clip" so that it is able to be centered over the hole. Cut too much, and you'll have a real problem on your hands! The front ones don't work too well because of the contour of the door panel. To use the original speaker grilles, you will need to cut the factory speaker out of the mounting plate, and mount your Jensen in the plate. Look thru the archives, someone had some pics of this not too long ago, I think.

Id say you need to make a template. Im not sure which material, perhaps a piece of hard plastic, or anything thin enough and sturdy enough. Or something. Cut the template to fit the original holes, then attach the speaker to the template. In my area there is a shop that sells sturdy plastic sheets. Comes in various thickness. They sell scrap pieces that can be had for 1.00 or so. Perhaps there is something like that near you, check the yellow pages. Or maybe sheet metal?

If you've got the hexagonal shaped grilles, you need 5" or 5 1/4" speakers.

4" speakers fit if you had the square grilles.
