Replacing front bumper/Matching years 200 1989

I have an 1989 245 Wagon which is accidented in the front. I am looking to replace the front bumper and need help idenitfying what years used the same bumper. I have located one from a 1984 but am not sure it would fit. I bought the car with the bumper damaged ( all of the rubber is gone)and so cannot viusally match it up.

Thanks

Tip: Remove the bumper and bumper shocks as a unit. Easier than trying to disassembly these in the junkyard.

One large bolt (22 or 24mm, I think) goes down through each shock. Two 12mm (I think) bolts come off where the shock tube fits into a channel in the frame.

Look for an '86-'93 car to get the bumper from. In '86, the trim around the bumper changed, so I'm pretty sure that the bumper is also a little different. In case you're not too familiar with year-to-year changes, '86-'93 240s have the large plastic headlight lenses, and the headrests are curved like the 700 series. That should make it easy to spot one in a junk yard.

    Good luck.
