What gives? I went to volvocars.com, to get my high mileage badge, but 200 1975

it is telling me my VIN # is not valid. The vin is VC24515B1041126, and yes I have checked it twice. Any ideas? Mark K

I had the same problem putting in the VIN for my 78 GT, so i added xx to the end of it to make it the "standard" 17 characters, went through fine then - it's been about a week and i havn't heard that my request was invalid or anything, just have to wait and see i guess.

Yeah, Mark, it doesn't work for my 79's VIN either. The website/database designer used some library function available for the standardized VINs beginning in 1980, so ours won't be available through the web form. Just my guess.

Perhaps your car was involved in a CIA operation that cannot reveal the true identity of your car due to its prior top secret classification.

Of course. Reverse psychology. Who'd ever believe the CIA would be driving a Volvo, much less an orange Volvo. The only thing they could do better would be signs on the doors saying, "Offical CIA Secret Car" and a flashing light on the roof.

Nobody would guess they were playing the clever game of reverse reverse psychology.
