going dead 200 88

Anybody know why a 240 SL would intermittently go dead (while in drive) in a variety of conditions?

A failing fuel pump relay is always a popular candidate.

Resolder yours. $0, 15 minutes, zero risk, clean 'n easy work. And if it's not the solution to your problem, you're out nothing.

    Resolder your OD relay, too.

Very good chance of being the 25 amp fuse for the fule system. They get corroded and IPD has actually made a special fuse holder for it. The fuse is on the drivers side near the battery. A little cleaning up could make it run fine.

Thanks, Jon, already replaced the housing for that fuse and am keeping it clean ( the fuse was slipping out of the original housing- this is an 88- and it was one of the first things I noticed when the problem started ). Thanks again.
