M47 Slipping 200 90

i let my wife drive my 240 last week because it's got better traction than hers. got in it last friday and caught the unmistakable smell of a burning clutch. upon driving it i found it slipping in 2-5 gears, along with the little squeal. this tranny's been really strong for the past year. could it be an adjustment or do i need a clutch kit?

If it is the original clutch and has 150 K or so, I bet it is time to replace it. You may need to resurface the flywheel if it has burned the surface causing small cracks in the metal. I noticed my turbo with a bad clutch start to slip in OD and 4th gear when I used the high torque range to pass.

I'm not an expert but the clutch is very easy to adjust, so maybe you should start there and see if it fixes the problem. All it takes is a crescent wrench. Instructions in Bentley.
