LH-Jetronic system-weak fuel pump? 200 82

The fuel pump in my 82 245 with LH-Jetronic draws 3.2 amps when it's running. Volvo manual says it should draw 6.2 to 6.5. Does this mean for sure that the pump is too weak to run the car (which died)? I tested all the testable circuits according to the manual, and this is the only one that tests abnormal (except for the fuel system vacuum pump which with no vacuum should test 0 ohms, but actually tests 1.4. Appreciate any assistance!

Slow turning motors take more current than one that's running properly. You have excessive resistance (voltage drop) in the circuit. Check grounds and fuse connections first. Those exposed ceramic fuses are infamous for oxidation and fracturing while looking OK. You may have lost the main pump and be reading the draw of the in-tank pump only.

I think your pump could be bad. Have you done a flow check for quanity or pressure. The less work a pump does the less amps it draws.

I would be really supicious of the check valve on the pump or the in the tank pump that feeds the main pump. Plus checking to make sure all the connections are good is always a thing good to do.

Hmmm, that doesn't smell right to me either. You should be seeing closer to 7 amps. Normally a worn/seized pump will overheat or short out and draw too much current before it blows a fuse. That would mean you've got resistance somewhere you shouldn't and it likely isn't in the f/p. Clean/replace the f/p fuses and bend in the contacts a little for a snug fit. If that doesn't do it then check the f/p electrical connector which you should find under the rear seat. Having a wagon makes this all the easier.
