looking for p-1800 1800

hello,

I have been putting some miles on my 84 240 for the past 4 years and I am thinking about getting an 1800. Could anyone tell me how much it would run me to find one that was complete, but not necessarily running. A very rough car would not scare me one bit, as long as the important stuff was still there.

I would like to find something in the Delaware/ maryland area. If you have one or know of someone that has one and wants to get rid of it, it would be great to know.

Thanks,

Anthony

I would love to get a 71 E. Do you know how much it is? I dont know if it would be feasible for me to get it. A little too far away.

        Re: looking for p-1800 1800

        anthony,

the owner of the 71 E is asking 1750 for this car.

maryland is a two day drive from tulsa, so i'm going to be totally honest.

the grill and surround are missing and the chrome trim above the passenger side door is missing too. everything else is there (afaik).

the rust isnt too bad (i've seen some "flintstones" 1800's). there are some minor holes behind the rear wheels. the jacking struts (front) need to be replaced. the pass. side floor pan has a 4" hole in it (above the jacking strut). there is a rust hole on top(?!?) of the drivers side fender ( i have a parts car that i could cut replacement metal from).

it has minor body damage at the left rear and in the front where the grill used to be(it has extra bumpers and lights)

the interior is original and needs restoration.

it needs new tires (not bald, just old and cracked).

it just got a major tune up and the gas tank has been (properly) refurbished so it runs very well (this is the 135 HP B20).

the tie rods have been replaced with new parts.

        the brakes work well.

i dont think i left anything else out.

        ryan

    hello,

Yeah, it would have to be a car from this area. It would also have to have the engine and driveline intact.

Orange 1800ES, IMHO the coolest Volvo ever, in the Baltimore area, act fast the auction ends today.

I am not the seller, BTW

Hi Anthony - you definitely want to contact and/or join the Volvo Sports America club - www.vsa.org I believe. They have a bi-monthly magazine that has many 1800's for sale in classified ads. Also check Hemmings as there are often 1800's for sale in there. Beware of RUST!

    Re: looking for p-1800 1800

I have a very early Jensen built car-1962. Not a candidate for a concours, but it needs quarter panels to make the body pretty good, has no engine or trans, and the previous owner covered the seats and panels with CRUSHED VELVET!!!!! AND SOME MORON GAVE ME MONEY FOR THEM!!!! So it needs an interior too. However, it is probably a lot more solid than an eastern car. Big problem I guess is the couple of thousand miles between Saskatchewan and the east coast. If you are interested, post and I'll email.
