power steering swap 200 82

I'm currently in the process of doing some weight reduction. I removed the a/c compressor yesterday and i have all the power steering brackets from a non a/c car. But i didn't realize until yesterday that the bracket on the power steering pump is also different, so i had to order it from the dealership today. The problem is i won't have it until mid to late next week. The car drives fine, just like a car with no power steering, but my question is can i drive the car with no power steering pump. Is it safe to drive the car the way it is, and will i damage the steering rack by driving with no pump

any info would be greatly appreciated

Don't let any dirt into things and you are ok. If you take the pump off, you have to loop the hoses so the air and oil can circulate around. If you plug the hoses it will pop the plugs first time you crank the wheel.
