Removing Center Vent Outlet 900 ALL

My kid's car now has the disintegrating diverter door foam syndrome in the heating system, resulting in a large piece of foam stuck behind the center vent outlet, above the heater control. I can't for the life of me figure out how to pull this outlet out in order to pick out the foam parts. Is it secured by spring clips or detents at the sides? Or screws? The OEM book is not too informative, unless I missed the correct section.

Re: Removing Center Vent Outlet 900 ALL

Steve:

Just was into my wifes 91 940 SE yesterday and if you rotate the vent way up, you will find a phillips screw that you remove. Believe you have to remove all the vents as a package.

Actually, I found out about it in the FAQ. The screws are almost totally hidden and sort of pop out as you are unscrewing them from the vent. Have to hold the vent up to do it. Check them with a good light.

Hope this is what you want. Whole darn dash front seems to come out. Even have to pop off the speedo surround after removing the screw covers.

The books just dont seem to cover this item at all.
