Finally got correct grill. How does it go on? 1800 70

Hello,

I recently purchased a grill for my 1800 that is correct for the year. It has paired black "slats" running horizontally and vertically. THere are 4 pieces around the edge that have a little hole thru them. I assume these are for mounting. There are no holes on my chrome surround, though, Should I drill some, or are these supposed to be mounted another way?

Someone go look at your 1800 and let me know.

Thanks,

The mounting should be small lugs from the grille surround. If it hasn't got them then the likelyhood is that the surround is for an 1800E/ES grille.

    Regards

If it is an E/ES grille there are small black retaining clips that hold it in. After doing extensive work on my ES I found my grille was only held in by 3 of these clips (there should be 6). Instead of trying to locate these I drilled 6 holes and put in 6 screws. If you do it right no one can tell the difference.

      Cheers
