Long time I have not been here :)

New to the family: 1991 740 sedan, regina, b230f, excellent original car.

Driver's window sometime gets stuck midway. I have to wiggle and wiggle and then it starts up again.
I do notice that the window pivots a fair bit from side to side...

I read about the 'window blocks'. Some weebsites seem to show tese for 1992+ cars.
Did the window mechanism change from 1991 to 1992? Blocks are the same.

I would like to order them before taking it apart... and dont want to irder something that wont fit.

As the window starts down or up does it tip so the top is no longer horizontal? The driver's window on our 1991 745 did just that. The window would not close at the top without a helping hand on the lower end. I installed a mechanism from a low miles parts car that I assumed would fix the problem but it didn't.

I ended up taking apart the door enough to get at the seal on the front side of the window. The window glass had to be removed to get at the full length of the seal. I pulled the seal out of it's channel. I cut a piece of cedar that was as wide as the channel and about 3/32" thick. I put the cedar in the full length of the channel and then pushed the seal back into place. In effect it made the window opening 3/32" smaller. With a closer fit to the glass it was prevented from tipping.

Hi Greg,

I'd take the driver door panel off and check the rail that holds the back edge of the drivers window. See if it has broken loose.
The FAQ should have the info to get the door panel off.

You might order a spare window switch that might be ready for replacement, and good to have in the parts box.

Also check the window lift bracket to see if it is broken.

The brackets will rust and break at the spot welds that hold it together.
