Duett with 2 color scheme question 444-544

I'm working on a 58 445 Duett with the blue/gray two color. Mine has the 45 midnight blue / gray colors but this question applies to any Duett with the two color setup.

How did the factory carry the color separation into the A and B pillars? I've seen pictures of cars with doors open where the pillars are the inside color (white or gray) but also where the two tone separation continues on the pillars. Does anyone know how they came from the factory?

    I think the colour partly goes into the shuts so the light colour doesn't show from the outside.
