Does anyone know the differences and/or interchangeability in the Bosch ignition control units used in the earlier 240's, like with B21F motors ? My 1980 was listed as using a Bosch 0227100005.I have seen here on the forum that the Bosch Bosch 0227100016 interchanges with the Bosch 0227100005. Now, I have come across a Bosch 0227100018. How does that one fit into the equation ?

Apologies for any confusion due to my error in the initial post. I misread the Bosch number on one of my ignition control units. It is 0227100018, and NOT the one I noted ending in 016. So the two versions I have seen are the 0227100018 and the 0227100005. I assume the -018 is perhaps an updated one, as the Volvo parts lists show only one Volvo part number for the B21 from 1975 forward.

dunno, might be a turbo. i always thought there's 1, volvo 1266714, for all 4 cylinders. been 30 yrs since i needed 1 of those.

Thanks. I'm wondering -- based on no tangible factual material -- if the Volvo part number (1266714) might have stayed the same even while the Bosch number evolved over time ? Topic for some more research in some spare time.
