Free Starter Rebuild Parts for '81 B21F 200 1981

Hi there!

Boy CeeBee1, you were fast on this one! You must have stayed close to the hive today! (:-)

I’m curious to why these are being given away?
I thought this fellow was posting questions about repairing a starter or getting the solenoid off?

These parts are good all the way up to a 1988 year model starters or the ones with the larger electric motor.
My 1991 was my first car with the smaller higher speed motor.
Some designers go longer in the length to maintain horsepower just lose the bulkiness of the total package
This scheme fits today’s thinking of smaller fits more applications, not that it’s better!

In about three weeks I will be going through San Francisco so I hope he shoots you an email right away!
Good on both of ya!

Phil

Hi Mr. Bee,

That awful nice of you to say things like that but this just proves there are lots of nice fellows on the BRICKBOARD!

To tell the truth, I wasn’t all that serious.
Three weeks on a good deal is an eternity as he is really serious about getting rid of them!
The word Free works, as an eye catcher, on everything within advertisers, even if it’s really not!

If you ever have driven around in the San Francisco urban area it’s a study of traffic and narrow uphill streets. Going North I stay on the 280 and 19th street to the Golden gate.
It’s toll is only Free when going North! You got a have a “free”way to get out of that town because everything else costs! Otherwise, you would be a captive due to the bridges.
South on the Richmond Bridge and north on the Golden Gate. Last I knew it was $7.00 plus and mailed to you from your license plate.
No 24 hour jobs and no possible cash robberies there anymore. The Price though just keeps goes up!
A FEE and a TAX are the same anymore, just different letters!

Since I would be in a 27 ft. Motorhome, parking it could turn out to be very worrisome, if not impossible.
Guess you could say I offered, but in reality, it lots of conversation, just like the above! (:-)

Phil

I'm hesitating in a transaction that involves money. While these parts are new and were ordered for my Bosch starter 0 001 311 103 I can't guarantee they will fit any starter that might be installed on a B21. Also, let me clarify these parts do not constitute a complete rebuild kit. I would prefer just to give them for free to be used if they can be.

As for driving in The City I'm in the Presidio where there are large parking lots which right now are mostly empty. Best approaches are 19th Ave. or the GG Bridge. Using the Bay Bridge necessitates driving through the business district. Also be sure to bring enough cash since failure to do so will get you a violation for "toll evasion", credit/debt cards not accepted.

No problem. go local.

fyi, I've got an 80 and and 87...same starter. same solenoid...actually same starter ran from 75 to 88 on 240s. since the 75 was a B20f---I suspect 140s also have same starter.

According to my RPR catalog----same starter B-SR37X --B18 1962 thru B230F 1988
Note: in 1985-1987 Models 2 starters were offered. SR37X and SR437X
the 37x is 4 inches in diameter. the 437X is less than 3 inches in diameter.

Change the Offering Headline----

Cheers,
Charlie
