The VolvOldsmobile I built is on the road. I have a 1963 Oldsmobile F85 215 V8 mounted in a '93 245 body along with a Camaro 5-speed. The engine/trans combo is lighter than the B230/AW70 that came out -- had to lower the front.
My concern -- there is much that is still disconnected electrically to finish out. I went under the dash yesterday to finish one aspect and went to swing a 4 blade relay out of my line of sight hanging near the fuse panel. The relay felt warm/hot so I checked and found it had a green wire that's + all the time. The other wires are 1 black, 1 blue, 1 blk/white. The cylindrical relay is a little less than 1 inch in diameter and about 1.5 inches long and it's enclosed in a thin black rubberish sheath. It's made by Sylvania - # TR2029 - I don't know what it does. All lights work. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the air bag as the '89 245 parts car doesn't have this--at least as far as I can see. I've removed it from the harness till I learn more. I don't intend to leave the original air bag steering wheel in place--I have a smaller, thicker 240 Turbo wheel to install. Any ideas? -- thanks, Dave
