Did some more research on revision of block specs, found this:

Looks like the block was changed with new rod size and main bearing design some time before 92, and then in 93 (?) by introduction of oil squirters. Don't believe mine has those, but probably bigger main bearings and 13mm rods.
Also Volvo's 2 page Crankshaft Journal Spec Supplement is available for a mere $18 or so shipped from their bookstore. I guess worst case scenario I could get it unless the info is available in the FAQ or somewhere else.
It also seems to be Volvo's style, when the info in the manual needs to be updated, to print sticker pages and supplements rather than new version of manuals.
