I checked that Amazon link and they were out of stock.

However I did find another source. $50

    thanks guys.
Yes kitty , Charlie is my name, another Marylander. Used to be registered a CB in the wayback, but somehow it got lost in server land, but still remains 'owned'.
When I tried to re-register says 'name taken pick another'. So it's been 'rabbit holed'.

Now all I need is a Febi donut for the center bearing and I'm ready for the replacement. Fortunately I found one from another source, for $26, so I'll have to eat a shipping and handling charge.

The Flex disc from Driveshaft comes with FreeShipping.

      Hiya Uncle CB!!!!

I'll imagine you and Uncle Art at the hangout and commiserate about Volvo 240 matters!!!

So I went to the Drive Shaft Power website. Their website search results list 23 applications for the made by SGF model "GAB01-017". Their price is $77.50 each.

      https://www.driveshaftpower.com/search.asp?keyword=GAB01-017&search=GO

Where did you find the made by SGF model "GAB01-017" we install behind our M47 gearboxes for $26? I ask as Uncle Dan Pageda warns us away from the terrible Dorman / MTC versions of this Flex Disk coupler Giubo.

The Febi brand version of the flex disk in the image is the SGF "GAB01-017".

The $26 price indicates made by MTC / Dorman quality? Could you indicate the retail vendor or webpage? As sometimes with FCP Euro, what is in the retail web page image is not what they send you.

The $50 price for SGF model "GAB01-017" you indicate appears best price if the real thing yet I guess they add a shipping cost.

I believe it was Swedish Baklava or MrNabisco or a another brickboard forum member that posted the failure of their MTC / Dorman / URO brand with images of the cheapo made by Shysters failed flex disc in a year. Sot of like how there are no good Volvo 240 strut (PN 1272455) mounts made anymore. Kaplhenke volvo and their cheap set of camber strut mount plates appears now the only enduring option. Probably too expensive for David Samuels Wagonmeister to design and have fabricated in urethane bushing with ball bearing bearings like original OEM.

      Sorry to go on.

      Questions and comments, please.

        kitty,

So I guess after I bought the flex disc from Drivershaft Power --ON SALE--- for $49.90, they removed the sale price and put it up to $77...Maybe I jinxed it for others because I took Dan's advice and called them for a Check on the part.

        $49

Regarding the $26 --- that was for the Donut-the center support rubber
        I found it on Amazon:
        Febi Driveshaft Support
        Brand: Bilstein

which when I bought it, was $25.07 --- so it qualified for Free Shipping, but seems they dropped the price by a few cents and now want $14 for shipping???

Beware that Amazon Link for the Center Support Donut 200

The order from Amazon arrive today...
what I got was a BeckArnley box with a Myle Made in China rubber donut, for that price --- Not he the FEBI Bilstein one I ordered.

I could have bought a Myle brand one for Under $10..

I am returning the BeckArnely one...fortunately I can do this for Free by using an Amazon drop off site at a local Kohls Dept Store.

I am not re-ordering as I don't expect to be shipped the Febi Bilstein one.

Am I being unreasonable in not giving Amazon a second chance????

          Cheers

With Amazon just report it as not as described and they won't have a problem with the return.

I have used a number of Myle motor mounts and center bearing supports without a problem.

Myle is OK but not for $25+ tax.

the return with refund is happening ans is the order from PartsGeeks---see post below.

In retrospect it may have been my mistake---aren't we all supposed ot be guilty about something these days? (LOL)

              Caveat emp...Amazon buyer....

I confess, I may have gotten confused in an attempt to get FREE SHIPPING... with several choices of Donuts---rasberry, choc death, just raw donut dough, that I triggered the wrong buy.

All is good thanks for your support Dan and KGV

partsgeeks for FEBOI Bilstein---will report when the package arrives

              Cheers

The internetz and interwebz. Glorified cash register!

Jarrod uses AWS to host the brickboard for AWS cloud and computation services. So I guess the expect a frenzy on buying these parts now at Amazon? I dunno.

Uncle Old Duke should be posting very soon, I hope!!! More about Shysters, Tobacco Road, Stinking Creek, and more Shysters! All in the war!!!

Mine is working fine, I'd buy it if I needed an other!
Stay away from Dorman or URO they just have a bad reputation for most everything they sell.

I found one that by the pictures look identical one I bought sold by Febi who is a reputable supplier or Volvo parts below.

    https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-363814-universal-flex-disc/?gclid=CjwKCAjwiOv7BRBREiwAXHbv3PMdR-tL4qQmORtGlA2gVWOiPPcw_JY5YWtcZ-nRCNnOEm7bqphw-hoCGOcQAvD_BwE

The part you posted shows the correct model number - 017 but the one in the picture shows -020? You might want to verify which one you will receive?

    Hiya Uncle CeeBee1!!!!!

    Sure Happy it's Munday!!!!

Uncle Art calls you Charlie in some posts?

The Volvo PN is 1220843. NLA according to Tasca and Volvo Parts Webstore.

    https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/volvo-universal-join-1220843

Yes, a drop-in fit. Observe orientation. Small triangle shapes serve as arrows on the outside edge surface that point forward. Reuse the same hardware in the same location.

I also mark the output flange and the drive shaft flange to align them.

I also found the nut that secures the M47 output flange to the splined output shaft was nearly finger loose! Check the torque on that nut!

SGF is the company that makes the flex coupler (Giubo, yes? Not Guibo) disk model "GAB01-017". It is OEM (quality) behind the M47 gearbox on 240, 740, and 940. Yet this model is beefy.

Giubo! Darned dyslexia including items from memory!
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giubo

Much beefier and less expensive than the flex disk from Volvo also made by SGF and is NLA from Volvo.

FCP Euro sells it as FEBI brand and the photo images show the SGF "GAB01-017". 56$ You source is cheaper by 6$!

    https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-drive-shaft-flex-disc-oem-1220843

Whether the copy and what FCP actually sells is the same, well, some may find out. The Made in China MTC/URO is garbage and fails in a year or so. Post about that here someplace. iPd USA not longer sells these Giubo Flex Dics.

Same goes for the center support bushing. Get OEM whether blue box Volvo or whoever is OEM.

Hope that help kats!!!! Questions?!?!?! Uncle Dan Pageda can also fill you in!!!!

Cooler weather with civilized temperatures have arrived in slovenly Saint Louis, Misery. Reduces the stench sort of.

So Uncle Old Duke should be posting about Shysters and launch control in his 1992 245 Wagon with M47 (with the Guibo!).

    Happy Mundaey!!!!

Earl Grey Tea and Laundrette Munday mornings .....
