no fuel 120-130

I have a 1966 122 b-18 last weekend the car died in the driveway, after sometime I determined I wasn't getting any fuel to the filters 1 before the pump 1 after assuming it was the pump I ordered 1, today installed with the spacer,pump will barely fill the 2nd filter and not enuf to run thinking I had a problem in the tank I bypass the tank with a jug and new fuel hose same thing, I am missing something obvious I guess, any help would be appreciated 2tired

From what you say, it seems like either the first filter before the pump is clogged, or enough crud has gotten into the float bowl(s) and clogged flow to the jet. In your test with the jug, did you still have both filters inline? I'd take the filters out of the circuit, just to make certain that they aren't the culprit. If still no flow, I'd pull the float bowl covers and have a look.

IIRC, without removing the carb bodies from the manifold, you can remove the float bowls with the jet still attached by loosening the through bolt that holds the float bowl to the carb, and while the jet is still attached to the float bowl, carefully pulling the jet down out of the jet centering housing. And then make sure that those are clear (compressed air). Probably advisable to first remove the bell and piston to avoid scratching the needle when removing the jet.

update the timing gears seem fine as rotor is moving and I can feel camshaft move when turn it over by hand, I unhooked the fuel line @the carbs and finally got a great flow of gas from the pump apparently danny was correct back pressure wouldn't allow gas to come out of the pump, I'm not running yet but went out last night and found that it would pump fine unhooked from the carb, thanks again

It is just possible to fit the pump with the lever the wrong side of the cam. Won't work like that. Suggest take off the pump but leave the hoses on and work pump by hand as a check.

An easy way to check for a broken camshaft gear is to remove the oil filler cap and look inside to see if the rocker arms are moving when you try to start the engine.

Another way is to pull the distributor cap and see if the rotor moves when you turn the engine.

Robert;

If Fuelpump lever is has input from Camlobe (check that Cam is turning first as Eric suggests), but doesn't move fuel, maybe Fuelline to Tank is blocked, or Feedtube in Tank has rusted and fallen away so that opening is now above level of fuel...I'd exhale into Tank and have a helper catch fuel in a catchcan up front...you should be able to move it freely...if not, blow into line back toward tank to clear line, then try again...once you get it working, install a pre-pump filter, and see what gets caught...

Good Hunting!

He said that this problem is independent of the tank - he tried pumping from a jug of gas.

Examine the old fuel pump arm that rides on the cam shaft be sure it is similar to the new pump you just installed.Same length and extension. I have run into differences between the two several years ago. Also, be sure you have that bake-light spacer put on correctly.

the car will start up with starting fluid, if the cam was broken there would be no timing if I'm thinking correctly

Any chance you have a broken timing(camshaft) gear.

You can crank the engine until the battery dies, but you won't be turning the camshaft which drives the fuel pump if you have a broken timing gear.
