Trying to identify oddball clutch pedal, 262C? Diesel?

Swapping my '84 242DL from auto trans to manual. Have sizable pile of spares from a very rusty '83 242 manual trans Turbo including clutch/brake pedal assy. Bought a parts lot of spares from a guy with a half dozen various 240s in a field and a collapsing barn , supposedly including many parts from an abandoned V8 project. He also had a 262C.
The clutch pedal I stripped from my '83 242 Turbo, has a clevis and about a 5mm pin securing the clutch cable to the pedal.
In the spares lot was a clutch/brake pedal assy. that has a very different means of attaching the cable. Instead of the single arm with the hole for the clevis & pin, there are 3 welded on vertical pieces welded to a notched plate about 1in.x 1 1/2in., with a sort of "groove". Much more "heavy duty" looking than the Turbo pedal with its single operating arm. The pedal appears to be an OEM item, not modified.
In the lot of spares was also a brand new clutch cable with a "T" shaped upper end which fits perfectly into the "groove". The cable lower end appears to be a Volvo item with the plastic adjuster. I no longer have the cable from the '83 Turbo for comparison of the lower end.
Other than the difference in the attachment of the cable and the different end, the "cage" of both pedal assemblies is the same.
Does the 262C use this type of clutch pedal and cable? Did they even make a 262C with manual trans?
Were there cable clutches on diesels? I assumed all diesels used hydraulic.
In the parts lot were a rather odd, sort of "slide in" transmission mount and a well made, large motor mount/bracket welded assembly that does fit neatly into the '84 242DL front crossmember.
Can anyone identify this pedal/cable assembly?

Trying to identify oddball clutch pedal, 262C? Diesel?

Not sure why, but having difficulty loading photos. Anyway, it appears the pedal assy. is from '82 thru '84 240 DIESEL. My info was that 240 diesel cars ALL used hydraulic clutch, but guess that info was incorrect. Never seen a diesel 240 here in Michigan, for comparison and believe me, I've been looking for one for 25 years!
The cable with the "T" on the end is being sold for '82 thru '84 diesel, but also for 740.
Kind of a PIA to swap auto to manual pedal assemblies. Since I have a brand new diesel/740 cable with the "T" end, I'll use the pedal that fits. Once in, it looks pretty easy to swap just the clutch pedal itself, if it doesn't work out.
Spent the day cleaning/painting the 1031 axle assy from the Turbo parts car to swap for 1030. Thank goodness for that $25 air scaler from H.F.!! 2 FULL dust pan loads of rust, cast iron scale and undercoating.

The 1980 240 Diesel I had as a parts car used a cable. I've made progress with my Oldsmobile V8/T5 powered '93 ex-auto tranny 245. I used the pedal "cage" from an '89 245 M46 car, as the pivot point for the clutch pedal was the same as the pedal I'd taken from a 265 (hydraulic) and then used the master and slave meant for a '70's Datsun 510 (new from Rock Auto along with the flex hose--less than $40) since I needed to drill the holes to mount the master anyway. Had a long time Volvo tech tell me he'd never swap out the firewall insert for an auto to stick swap again on an '86 and later 240. -- Dave

(Changing "84 242DL auto to manual using brake/clutch from '83 242 Turbo) After spending a few more hours twisted up under the dash, I realize that this odd "diamond" shaped plate on the manual pedal assy. from '83 242 Turbo parts car looks like it mounts in the same place as the hydraulic clutch master on cars using it. On '83 Turbo, a vacuum line ran through it. The mounting bolts go from the inside, through the firewall plate to the diamond shaped plate on the engine side. The car I'm working on, '84 242DL was an automatic and the firewall plate had no holes except for the brake booster.
By the way, there is a hole for a mounting bolt way up on the upper left of the clutch pedal bracket. On the auto car, the mounting hole on the body was blanked off with a plastic plug and some body sealer. Popped it out and there was a threaded hole!

Diesel 240 models use a cable. The 260 series (V6) use a hydraulic master and slave cylinders. A cable operated clutch pedal attaches the cable to the uppermost part of the pedal. The hydraulic clutch attaches the rod in the middle of the pedal. -- Dave
