Good day,

I have a 1990 740 that needs a new stereo-tape unit. Currently model is TD 6141. It has the one black rectangular connector screwed to the unit chassis.

I have no motivation to go with aftermarket.

Does a CR-814 anti-theft stereo unit from a 940 work; plug and play no cut and splice?

I see the cabling seems different.

    I put a CR814 in my 1989. Harness was all the same and it allowed me to install an Alpine CD changer that it controlled.

    It needs the anti theft code. If you do not have it try to get the original VIN and have the dealer look it up. They may be able to look it up by SN as well.
