Bosh Blue Coil with pertronix 120-130 1968

Hello All,

I've cut the armored cable, and I'm having a hard time finding the correct instructions for wiring the coil, and pertronix. Sny help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

gd

The coil has a key switched hot wire in it that is hot during cranking and in the run position, this is the + wire for your ignition system. Look up a basic contact point ignition system diagram, as well as a basic electronic ignition system diagram for clarity.
Also, the ignition key switch in the Amazon’s is 50+ years old now, a universal key switch is probably more robust and reliable at this point, and the key won’t break in the barrel. Personally I didn’t even cut my armoured cable, I pulled the key switch from the hole and tucked it behind the dash, then transferred all the wires required to my universal key switch. I guess in the future some purist could set up my system to be stock again, but it would not run as well as it does now.

Thanks for the response!

I left out an important detail... the PO put in a push start button... Everything is wired under the dash. It seemed simpler to just cut the cable and run the wire.

Cheers,

From a search of Brickboard.

Thanks a ton, for the link... my search didn't turn out.
My worry is that method won't work for my set up... the PO wired in a push start button... so I haven't a clue as to whether or not it'll fry the pertronix- or the 120. I've also read that the wire from the old condenser was supposed to be added somewhere in the loop?

Thanks again!

gd

The Pertronix doesn't use a condenser so that can be removed entirely.

Not sure how a push button start would change anything. It simply replaces turning the key one more notch.
