has anyone replaced 740/940 copper seal washered fuel filters w the filter setup of 850/s70?? 900 1993

This Ford Volvo fuel filter arangement is far simpler & less particular than the the old arrangement. My E150 van had it & it took 2 mins to change, take out the fuel pump fuse & crank the engine to relieve pressuredisconnect the filter catch the spill in a bottle drain it off etcc,,, there were never any leaks. just push on the filter nipple slide on the 2 C clips & its done.

I've been wondering the same thing, having replaced the filter on both my '94 940 and the '98 V90 (same arrangement as 850/S/V70). The newer design is clearly superior. It seemed like replacing the fittings would be even more of a hassle, so I didn't try. No leaks with the new copper seals though.

I will try it by replacing the entire line.
