Sages,
What would cause, or what causes oil to enter the Throttle body, plastic air intake hose, and Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)?
I'm asking as back in March of 2017 I purchased a 1990, 245 for my youngest son.
In getting it road worthy I pulled the throttle body and cleaned it completely. It wasn't bad, but it is just one of the things I do when I get one these old 240's that I have zero maintenance on, and/or has not been well taken care of.
Last week or so, the car's TPS failed and was swapped out this weekend with one of unknown age, but it at least works and the car is now back on the road.
I soaked the throttle body to clean it up and then removed the TPS. My plan is to open it up and clean it and put it back in service.
I left is sitting on my bench for about an hour and just now picked it up and a lot of engine oil came running out of it, thus the reason for my initial question. I need to know what is causing this and how to fix it quick so that I'm not swapping out the current known good TPS with maybe a brand new one or one that I refurbished.
Thanks in advance,
Matt
