Changed timing belt, now engine sputters, stalls and smokes: blown valves/pistons? 200 1987

no real damage done.
you have to go back to square one and set the timing harmonic balancer at TDC.

then peak at the camshaft sprocket and see how many teeth its off. and ensure you rotor under the diz cap is pointing to #1.

get that sorted out and you ought to be good progressing from kindofhandy to actuallyhandy...:)
