245 sunroof 200

ill go into detail here. im a mechanic, not a writer.sunroof i ran the two wires from the motor to the 262 console mounted power window switch 4 wires. ground, +12, sunroof motor wires. works great. 2.2 swapped out whole system ecm, ignition module.can set inital timing with timing light.(remember them?)keep it simple.can adjust for preference.has chrysler ignition module. i like that it is user friendly:electronics can be serviced.already been there, repaired the one in my car.also like reliability of 544 ecm.if i ever own a car that has drive by wire,i have had a stroke.my 1800 and 122 have points and carbs.easy and quick fix if they quit running.everyone has own preference, otherwise the government would have us all driving a gray chevrolet leaf.also installed foglight relay with seperate +12 volt in parallel with fuel pump relay.takes load off factory relay.not to mention 2.2 pickup sensor is in distributor, not buried on back of engine. this is enough. hope this helps Al

245 sunroof 200

Although I've heard of aftermarket sunroof installs in a 245, I'm glad to hear for the first time someone not complaining about one, but doing something about it for a change. 12 wires and brains!! Glad you made sense of it when you had to. Mine all just have a hand crank which operates to close the opening even when the battery is unavailable.

I don't really understand the move to LH2.2, which of course has nothing to do with being able to set timing. Timing is handled by the ignition system, for which you must have replaced EZ116K with something like EZ117K using the Hall-effect switch in the dizzy. Surely you didn't go back to the Chrysler provided Computerized Ignition.

Actually, you can monkey with the ignition timing in the originally-equipped EZ116K that was paired with LH2.4 fuel. Go over to Turbobricks, where the bulk of the posters modify their Volvos for whatever reasons, and find the discussion on timing adjustments in the engine management forums.

245 (aftermarket) sunroof, engine control system, and 'mods' ... 200 1990

Hi 1owner122,

Dialect as a dialogical exercise ...

An ASC – American Sunroof Corporation after market power sunroof that no longer works? Were you able to repair the power sunroof?

A 1989+ Volvo 240 would have the Bosch LH-Jetronic 2.4 (not 2.2) injection and the Bosch EZK116 ignition (the crank position sensor [CPS]). Timing is fully controlled by the ignition system control unit so long as the timing belt is a proper installation tension set (or reset).

Other folks on the brickboard, one imagines, would be concerned as to your care and maintenance of your stock 1990 Volvo 240 DL Wagon. Replacement of fluids (your brake fluid is clean and clear) including grease pack items, inspection and treatment of wear items, and other preventable service you can perform to both save money and ensure economical and reliable performance of your RWD Volvo model.

You are asking on modifications to the engine control system, wheels, suspension, installing +Turbo from a 740 or 940 Turbo to your normally aspired 1990 Volvo 245 Wagon? You can research here, or, better, research at the Turbobricks website (http://forums.turbobricks.com/). Review the many build threads that detail the evolution of many different Volvo models from stock to a high(er) performance street or race track setups.

There is the V8 forum you can click at the top of this page, should you want to install a V8 engine into your 245. I also wonder about V6 engines.

Yet I'll remain stock, for now.

Also, facebook has several Volvo groups with ongoing discussions as to maintenance and modifications.

Questions?

Hope that helps.
