Random power loss and stall while driving 700

I have a 1990 740 GL a/t. We have had an increasing instance of a power loss while driving. Sometimes the engine dies all together and starts within a few seconds after coming to a stop.
It is irritating because it is so random and the car has no diagnostic codes when i check.
I'm trying to figure out where to start troubleshooting.
It has had recent:
O2 sensor, tune up with plugs and wires and mainly runs great with good power and fuel economy.

I had the same problem. We replaced the idle control valve and then the fuel relay. The new fuel relay did the trick.

I meant to leave a follow up here, sorry for the delay p- it was the Idle control valve. I removed ours, cleaned it, and re-installed it and the car is running perfectly again. Thanks

If it's a Rex ignition, try taking the coil/power stage apart and cleaning the internal mating surfaces and contacts. Make sure the little springy clips inside are pinching firmly onto the clips (you'll see what I mean). A couple torx screws hold it all together.

If it's a Bosch ignition, try swapping in a known good coil.

Neither one of these two coils' failures will throw a fault code when they start acting up.

Another possibility is the crank position sensor. These are known to fail as the engine (bell housing) temperature rises, however its failure "should" throw a fault code.
