Picked up cheap blower motor and resistor 200

Hi,

Just thought I would let you guys know (especially since there are always a lot of heater repairs in the winter) about the parts I picked up in the past couple weeks from autozone. The blower motor was $38, made by VDO. The blower motor resistor came in a Duralast bag, not sure of the manufacturer but it is the exact same one that comes in the Volvo blue box (I had a Volvo one on hand). I think it was $44.

Anyways hope that helps someone out,

Travis

Excellent! Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to be doing my '92 tonight to get it prepped for sale and DD work for an already committed buyer. Doing stage 0 tomorrow.

I pulled the blower motor and resistor from a 99k mile '92 at the Pick n Pull for $15; the bearings are in good condition, no shaft play, and the resistor looks very nice for being used. On eBay, Autozone has the motor listed for $41.99 and the resistor for $50.99 shipped, the one in the picture says Volvo even. That's a great price for OE, I've read don't bother with the MTC or equivalent aftermarket part. I'll have to call up my local Vatozone and see if they can get them in time if not in stock. Although I'm confident the OE parts I pulled will provide a pretty long life for the next owner, this is definitely worth going the extra mile to avoid doing it again sooner than later. Maybe I'm a sadist, but I'm actually looking forward to doing this job. It was the first big job on my 240 when I got it after the motor mounts; trail by fire. It's also nice to have plenty of Pick and Pull yards so close to me, I've gotten a lot of practice tearing 240's apart.
