Any Difference - 1990 EGR vs 1990 Non-EGR Longblock? 200

I have 2 1990's:

No.1 - Good car with bad clutch and head oil leak at #2 exhaust port / Non-EGR

No. 2 - Ratted out body with nearly new clutch and strong engine - EGR

I just went out to pull the good engine/trans from car 2 to swap into car 1 when I remembered car 2 had the EGR system.

I was thinking I would swap the engine/trans complete, but now I know I will have to swap the long blocks leaving the exhaust and intakes with the respective cars.

My question is: other than the intake and exhaust tracks, are the two engines the same?

Thanks, one and all.

you might want to sell off the egr manifolds and head? here on the board. they are not that easy to find in junkyards anymore even in california.

as far as i know the only differences between egr and non egr late model 240's is the

    1. the egr ecu
    2. the egr exhaust manifold which you simply plug after
    3. intake manifold
    4. egr valves and detritus
    5. can not recall if the cylinder heads vary

if it was me i would pull the engine and transmission from the rot car swap it into the good one whole. then plug the ports in the exhaust manifold for egr or swap the non egr manifold and do the same for the intake. the exhaust ports are 1/2 inch something. if the head has ports which i think it might but just don't recall simply plug them.

fyi interesting technical data on cylinder heads
