another engine swap question

A couple of days ago I posted a message re: the feasibility of putting a engine from a 93 240 into my 92 944 that is a rex-regina car.

1. flexplate needs to be changed

2. plug wires will be changed ( i'm trying to keep the block mount distributor)

3. as far as wiring modifications....I intended to re-use my current rex-regina harness and most likely the entire intake setup.

Any advice or issues regarding this plan?

Thanks in advance
dhalljr

another engine swap question

Have you researched to see if you can install the cam-driven distributor on the 240 engine? I don't know if you can or not, but if so, it seems that the swap would be much easier. Plus, I don't know if there are any issues with running the block-mounted distro with the Rex coil and computer.

Does the 240 cam have the slot at the back to accept the rear dizzy?

another engine swap question

Thanks for the replies. I have not checked the cam in the 240 engine. I intended to use the entire wiring harness and intake off the old engine. Since both the regina and bosch systems have crank sensors I dont' think the distributor is a problem, but I'm not sure.

I'm curious....will all the accessory brackets bolt up to the 240 block?
I want to keep all components where they are in the 940 series.

any ideas?

thanks
dhalljr

I would think all would swap to the new engine, you will need to swap any regina specific sensors if there are any?
Dan
