I am stripping down my beloved P1800es for a well deserved repaint. My headliner is in great shape, so I do not want to mes it up. That said I have to remove it to remove the hinges for the hatch. I don't want to just to pull it down and damage it. Any Ideas, suggestions tips?

The headliner is fairly elastic. You should just be able to pull the rear edge of it out and snap it back in later.
