Tips on replacing 658653 120-130

I have to replace both donut cushions on either side of the driveshaft center support.

Any tips on procedure? Can they be forced in without dismantling the whole center section?

    very easy, if memory serves did everything in situ, didn't have to undo anything.....the ease of the instal makes up for the lack of support I feel this design gives.

      Tips on replacing 658653 (drive shaft support, two bushing early design) 120-130

      HA;

      Remove old ones by wrenching on them and insulting them in any way handy until removed. Warm replacement bushings in hot water (if necessary) to make them more compliant and "Walk" the lip over holding edge more gently with a flatblade screwdriver...

      I have to agree with Patrick on this..."the ease of the instal makes up for the lack of support I feel this design gives." ...combined with the typically much less substantial (cheaper?) rubber of replacements makes for a short service life of replacements...

      Cheers

        Thanks for the encouragement and tips. Replacements are VOLVO so I hope they last for a while. Fortunately they are pretty cheap to buy.
